We just landed in La Rochelle after two weeks performing at Maison de la Danse in Lyon. We are about halfway done with the tour and it feels good. Both Tel Aviv and Jerusalem were amazing and being in Lyon wasn't bad either.
The weather has been awesome in La Rochelle -- 42 degrees is my comfort zone so I am loving it. Seafood abounds because the beach is two seconds away from the hotel and theater.
Although I’ve been sick (for the majority of the tour), I'm hoping that La Rochelle brings it out of me. The people seem really calm here, which is calming in return.
I tried going shopping today (Sunday) but pretty much all the stores were closed --still looking for that fierce pair of black boots! I don’t know a lick of French but I've been managing just fine.
There’s a lot to soak in but there isn't a day when I don't feel a sense of gratitude. Both traveling and performing remind me of how thankful I am to be doing my favorite things for a living. Of course some days are harder than others, but knowing that I'm living my dream by being a professional dancer and feeling like I'm in the right place at the right time is satisfying. When times get tough, it gives me that extra push, knowing that this is what I've worked so hard for.
I'm enjoying my first tour thus far, and loving the fact that I have the opportunity to witness and be a part of such amazing and beautiful artistry.
I may not be in school but this child is still learning :)
Much love from France y'all,
PS. I've been winning at the casino too. Lets see how far I can go!
