LINES Ballet company dancers performing "Deep River" on stage

Alonzo King and Ilaria Guerra at the Torinodanza Festival

LINES Ballet’s Artistic Director Alonzo King and LINES dancer Ilaria Guerra were interviewed by RAI during the company’s recent performances of Deep River at the 2024 Torinodanza Festival. Learn more about Alonzo’s artistic philosophy and Ilaria’s experience with LINES Ballet

Music is the basis of the world in which we live. People say that Ilaria is a dancer, but why? She is a musician. There is no doubt about this. She plays her body as if it were an instrument, just like a pianist, a flutist, or a xylophonist does. Her instrument is the body, and she is playing it with her heart and her mind.”
